About Us

Providing education and resources to improve the holistic health of women and children.

Our vision is that  all women and children regardless of race, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, age, socio-economic background, or any other demographic receive exceptional perinatal and pediatric care.

 

The Mother-Baby Nutrition Foundation is a 501c3 located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Our organization aims to provide direct services to women located in Knoxville, Tennessee as well as education to women across the united states.

Alex Gardner, MPH, RND, LDN, CLC, CHES

Founder & President

​

Alex is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Certified Health Education Specialist specializing in fertility, prenatal, and postpartum nutrition. She has a passion for walking along side families so that women can conceive, grow, and deliver a healthy baby without feeling overwhelmed. She is also the mom to a little girl named Lila. 

 

She is the founder and CEO of Alex Gardner Nutrition LLC, a nutrition practice that strives to help women during any stage of their perinatal journey. Alex was moved to start the Mother-Baby Nutrition Foundation during her time in her Master of Public Health program where the emphasis on social determinates of health was of top priority. She strives to help all mamas receive equitable access to perinatal nutrition services.

Kaitlyn King, MS, RDN, LDN

Vice President

​

Kaitlyn is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. She has a master of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences, which she obtained through the University of Tennessee. Kaitlyn works as a clinical dietitian serving the adult population. She is a mom to twin boys and has seen firsthand how important proper nutrition is prior to pregnancy, during pregnancy, and postpartum for herself and her boys.

Leah Patrick, MS, RDN, LDN

Treasurer and Secretary

​Leah is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist working as a WIC Dietitian in the rural community. Leah has a passion for public health, improving access to nutritious foods, and encouraging healthy relationships with food. In her free time, Leah loves to spend time with her family, gardening, and knitting.
